It's a municipal trust .           Ever notice how your utility bill keeps increasing?  Ever      notice that you haven't any say over whether municipal trusts      increase their rates and fees upon you?  The free market does      a better job of representing the people than does a ballot box.      You see:  at the ballot box your choices are limited.  In the      free market you can vote every day

If your existing plan sucks, why?? If all existing plans suck then there's that market opening to organize a new type of HMO plan, whether public or private. America's private entrepreneur environment is thriving. If you could boot up a new HMO, someone would have done it.           Which says to me that  Obama's promise to boot up a new HMO      called government HMO is, in effect, yet another Ponzi scheme      designed to pass on unforseen costs to those not able to vote      today. Under Single Payer (which is NOT on the table), you get low premiums, no deductables, and no claims are denied. That means you keep the good parts - the doctor and hospitals who already know your situation. Why not emigrate to countries with Single Payer plans if they're so magically good? Instead the USA already sustains the world's HIGHEST AMOUNT OF -IMMIGRATION- !!! Because you don't need the healthcare coverage until you get sick. Otherwise, people are responsible to their families and communities to work together, here.           Which suggests that those who today say they need the      Obamacare are already sick?  What happened to the notion of      reasoned discourse among decision-makers who are not sick ? Under Public Option, you can keep your existing HMO. Perhaps, but why deny others from joining that existing HMO ? Huh?           Because Obamacare stipulates that private HMOs will not      be able to recruit new enrollees.  The vitality of health insurance      depends upon premiums from new enrollees, some of whom will meet      with catastrophic death and some of whom will not. If the private      HMO is prohibited from recruiting new enrollees then it won't be      able to deliver on its promise of services to those currently      enrolled.  Why can't government compete on equal turf with the      private HMOs ? Under Single Payer, nobody manages anything, and any insurers offer identical service - a rubber stamp. Under Public Option, the government competes with HMOs. You can still join them - if they actually give you a reason too!           I wonder if removal of competition achieves national health      priorities.  The idea that people should receive health care      without doing anything on their part to accomplish good health      strikes me as a bad investment strategy.  Why should we tolerate      unhealthy food at fast-food restaurants, life_style_s that do not      emphasize exercise, any form of tobacco use, industrial pollutants,      pesticides, meat consumption, and inorganic food? However, if that HMO were forced to (shocked gasp) COMPETE, then they might change their plan! The horror! If you want the existing HMOs to (shocked gasp) COMPETE then you won't make government into the sole monopoly HMO. The government's _job_ is to monopolize a few sectors - defense (and _offense_), spying, jurisprudence, the mail, disaster recovery, carving faces into mountains, monitoring volcanoes, etc.           There's a private project of Native American face carving.
