It researches emerging topics, develops 50-state comparisons, and highlights innovative approaches among states to complex problems. When the facts are clear, PCS advocates for nonpartisan, pragmatic solutions. The Pew Charitable Trusts launched The Children’s Dental Health Initiative in July 2008 under the auspices of PCS. The project seeks to improve access to dental health care for disadvantaged children by advancing state policy reforms. The project manager will be part of a team responsible for developing and implementing the dental health initiative, and will be responsible for designing and executing the initiative’s state advocacy campaigns. This position, _base_d in Pew’s Washington, D.C. office, will report to the project director, Advancing Children’s Dental Health Initiative, PCS, and will be term limited ending on June 30, 2010.  The dental project is subject to board renewal in 2010.    The successful candidate will have a minimum of eight years of experience while demonstrating a high level of understanding of health policy, including working with state policy makers, researchers, advocates, and other stakeholders. Experience in children’s health, oral health, or related field is strongly preferred. The position requires a bachelor’s degree as well as an advanced degree in public policy, law, public health, or other relevant discipline.
