PITTSBURGH ‹ (*Reuters - 9/23/97 fair use) A defiant Ron Carey said Tuesday he had nothing to do with the fund-raising scandal that hit his campaign for re-election as president of the  Teamsters union, declaring he was betrayed'' by trusted aides.  In his most extensive meeting with reporters since three of his former campaign aides  last week pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from the scandal, Carey said he  was a victim of the scheme along with the union and his campaign. * ER Ron Carey imitated the Clinton I'm Stunned speech trying to deny personal involvement in Fundraisinggate. Three Underlingus Employmens have already pled guilty.   I can tell you that if there is a victim here, I certainly am the victim,'' Carey told a news conference...*   I have worked for many years in this clean-up process,'' said Carey who was first elected to his post in 1991 as a reformer. It's a betrayal to me. It's against  everything I've ever worked for. It's against everything I believe in.'' * ER It takes MY breath away. Now doesn't that sound familiar?
