This is a digest of messages posted to: Pregnancy.Pregnancy: 1st Trimester"I Didn't Know I was Pregnant"Initial Message Posted by: BuckeyeNutSarah Date: Aug 25, 2009.Ok... seriously... I try to be a pretty understanding person, but I am really skeptical of that show on TLC - have any of you watched it? I mean, come on! I know that it's just a TV show and these are VERY rare exceptions, but I still am not buying how they could go 9 months with nothing that set off a warning to them? Sorry - I'm being a total b with an itch but I just can't watch it anymore. I resent them everytime I puke! "I Didn 't Know I was Pregnant" I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #1: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: Kristy1019 Date: Aug 25, 2009.lol, I watch it and just laugh it off. I've seen a few where I can be SOMEWHAT understanding, because they had existing conditions that made them sick and didn't get regular periods, whatever. But there are some that just make me go "seriously? for real?" Granted, I haven't had too many symptoms thus far, but I'm only 8 weeks. I imagine by your 9th month there is virtually no chance of not realizing you have a baby growing in you. I saw one where the woman was late and went to her doctor and did a BLOOD TEST. And that came back negative-craziness. but yeah, I don't really like the show so I don't watch it much. I Didn't Know I was Pregnant M essage #2: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: DizzyMissLizzy85 Date: Aug 25, 2009.I don't get it either, I'm only 4w3d according to my LMP and.. I knew a week ago. But, I guess everyone is different. I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #3: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: Jill_en Date: Aug 25, 2009.I love that show!! They show pics of these people though before they gave birth and they are not showing at all. I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #4: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: 1ambernicole Date: Aug 25, 2009.I have a hard time with some of those episodes too. but like you said some of those before photos are crazy with how they are not showing. but that one epp where the women never had periods and would joke with her hubby about how there was something moving in her tummy and she would say it was an alien but it was really a baby. I mean come on common sense should say take a htp. I mean the only symptom I had was a missed period so I took an htp and it was pos but I am 4 wks and like 4 days and I can barely eat food at all without feeling the need to throw up but I guess some people get lucky enough to not experience smptoms like that. hmm makes ya wonder lol. I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #5: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: staryeyed_angel07 Date: Aug 25, 2009.I just laugh at them. DH hates the show he just keeps saying how do you not know. I mean I can kind of understand not knowing for a little bit but not for the full 9 months. With this pregnancy I wouldn't have known I was pregnant if it hadn't taken me 3 week s to get over a cold. That was the only thing that set me off. But still when I hit about 3 months I definatly would have known. And my AF's are irregular. I just don't get it but I like watching it for a good laugh. I just relized our babies are do a day apart from eachother. I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #6: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: Verka25 Date: Aug 25, 2009.One of my coworcers has a daughter that had her period and no symptoms of being pregnant until 6 months. AT 6th month she found out she was prego. And another co-workers daughter is a little overweight and had no symptoms and had her period, and only found out she was prego when she went in labor. So it can happen. I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #7: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: segadelli24 Date: Aug 25, 2009.Yeah i watch that show , some of them I really can believe the situation and it does happen but the rest of them I just laugh , like all the women who had reguluar periods suddenly missing a couple taking hpt's and getting negatives I would probably go to the doctor because I might think it was something worse , or yeah the one story were the women felt strange movement but joked with her husband about it .... even the birth stories blow my mind one women had been given meds for constipation and she proceded to give birth on her toilet to a 6 pound little boy and thought it was a bm she was passing the whole time until she heard the kid cry I was like WHAT! I am sorry but I can tell whats coming out of what end. It's still a great show and out of all the silly crazy stories and some that seem complete denial there are some really touching ones on there that you can really believe. I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #8: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: nmbr2 Date: Aug 25, 2009.I have never seen this show, but I tell ya, a few minutes of it on at my house and I am sure my lovely DH would make me change it very fast. I can see like most not knowing for a while. When my mom was pregnant with me she went 5-6 months not knowing, but not all the way up till delivery. I would want to watch it once though just to see what it's all about I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #9: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: cuppcake Date: Aug 25, 2009.BWAH HAHAHA! Oh you crack me up! did you see the one with the lady having twins. while i dont rule out that strange things happen, i think some of these people are ignorra nt. i found out that im pregnant this morning and a had no really smack in the face symptoms. i eat around my period, my boobs hurt too... i missed my period, but i have before... the only difference was i wanted sweets that i hate and was thirsty. i could rule out everything, but knew. its the small things you pay attention to sometimes. i mean come on. i dont understand it but i do. NOW... what really cheeses me off is that they say "they had no prenatal care, but amazingly turned out ok" WHAT? its like..so you are telling me babies cant survive without it? of course its important, but what do you think women did before prenatals.. how did anyone survive?? how? oh yeah, thats right, they made it just fine. i just hate how they make it out that way. P.S. im taking prenatals... i want my baby as healthy as possible. duh! i totally agree though. he show is a little lame I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Message #10: I Didn't Know I was Pregnant Posted by: lexiesfolks3 Date: Aug 25, 2009.I TOTALLY agree! I understand how you may not have your period, and may think morning sickness is something else, and may not even get a preggo belly...but for gosh sakes, from weeks 25 on that baby is kicking up a storm! how can you mistake a full term baby kicking to be gas???? There is just no way. I am a large girl and so a kicking fetus probably isn't even as strong on me as it is in regular or skinnier size girls and I still can't believe how strong and unmistakable that baby's kick is!!!!! thats the part that gets to me!!Pregnancy: 1st Trimester1st D/A question..Initial Message Posted by: DizzyMissLizzy85 Date: Aug 25, 2009.My first d/a is scheduled for September 4th. I will only be 6 weeks at this appointment. My LMP was July 25th.. am I wrong about how many weeks I will be? I thought the lady said they don't like to see patients until 8 weeks? Should I call back? Because I don't want to have to worry if it's too early to see the h/b or do you think if they can't they will schedule another appointment? Soo confused.1st D/A question..1st D/A question..Message #1: 1st D/A question.. Posted by: kmbryant Date: Aug 25, 2009.Did they tell you you would be getting an u/s? Most docs don't do them unless they feel it medically necessary, so don't be disappointed if you don't get one until the BIG one. 6 weeks could very well be too early to see the h/b if they do an u/s. And you are correct in how far along you are. It is up to you if you want to call and reschedule. I have a previous miscarr iage and they didn't see me until 8 weeks this time and I got no u/s, which kinda bummed ... read more ť

This is a digest of messages posted to: Pregnancy.Pregnancy: 1st Trimester(o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE!Initial Message Posted by: BuckeyeNutSarah Date: Aug 26, 2009. Get it..? My Boobies hurt SOOOO Bad! I was already a DDD to begin with and I swear I have to be at least a E now and I'm only supposedly 5w5d! I know sore boobs is normal for pregnancy - but what the heck can you do for it? I have to go bra shopping tonight because my current one is getting too tight but seriously they might explode at this rate! It might sound funny but I'm kinda concerned! (o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE!(o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE!Message #1: (o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE! Posted by: Missy2233 Date: Aug 26, 2009.Mine also hurt pretty bad. I just put a cold clothe on them at night before I go to bed so I can sleep. Other than that try taking some tylenol. Maybe that will help. What is safe for the baby?(o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE!Message #5: (o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE! Posted by: baileebou Date: Aug 26, 2009.I wear a heart rate monitor and make sure m y HR stays below 140 (that's what my book said to do, not my dr). I walk fast enough to break a sweat and I climb hills. I go on the treadmill and speed walk or use the elliptical. Just get sweaty. Honestly, my boobs feel much better than they did last week since I started making sure I exercise a little every day(o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE!Message #6: (o) (o) 's HELP PLEASE! Posted by: shanastash Date: Aug 26, 2009.yey! i have a boobie friend! i got big girls too...actually from the DDD to the E, we are the same! i know it's weird to find a boobie friend, but we have the same issue! mine stopped hurting around 8 weeks, but i would put cold wash clothes in the freezer for about 20 mins so they got REALLY cold and lay it around my boobs. the girls don't hurt like they used to, but they definately have their days. now the only problem i have is the nipple h urting SOOO bad. i looked for something at babies r us, thinking nursing and such, but my nips aren't "shafed" or "dry" or "chapped" so i didn't get anything. instead i put vasiline on them (just the actual nub) after a shower (since it's "all natural") and let them suck in the moisture. it's better for the rest of the day...until i take my bra off again and they rub against the fabric....OUCH! but anywho, i am sorry WE have to go through this. it does get better...i hope for you! FYI motherhood has F, E, and G bras for only like 22 bucks...much cheaper than lane bryant where i usually get my bras! (and they changed their return policy on undergarments too, as long as they still have the tag on, it is EXCHANGEable) good luck to you and your boobies!1st Pregnancy and Scared!!1st Pregnancy and Scared!!Message #6: 1st Pregnancy and Scared!! Posted by: First_Timer1 Date: Aug 26, 2009.Well my spotting became worse. We went to the ER late Sunday night and they took a bunch of blood and done a lot of tests. Told me to go home and rest, when I got home I barely made it to the porch and my pants were soaked... Unfortunately I lost my baby. Pregnancy: 1st Trimester6 weeks

Posted by: shanastash Date: Aug 27, 2009.oh yeah, sports bras...i wore one since before i found out, overtop my normal bra. it was a "sophiticated" kinda look...but it helped my boobies. they felt like they were 20# each...so i needed extra support. try that...and along with all the other ideas all of us girls gave you. ..ya never know, 2 ideas in one might just work for you!Pregnancy: 1st Trimester5.5 weeks but measured 4.4weeksInitial Message Posted by: lfwilson Date: Aug 27, 2009.O.K. I hope I explain this right. Here's some history on me: I got pregnant In June, with instant side pain, ended up being an ectopic, fallopian tube burst , had surgery in July, and got pregnant again immediately after that. I'm now in my 5th week. I've been going to the doctor regularly so, just in case its another ectopic I can save my remaining fallopian tube. Today I went in for an ultrasound and the technician only saw what would be a very small sac that only measured out to be 4.4 weeks when I'm supposed to be 5.5 weeks. Now , i hoped that was a good sign because last week we didnt see anything. But no heartbeat and not a full round sac. My doctor wasn't there so the technician didnt have my blood work to compare it to to decide on what to do next. She said it might be too early to tell whats going on and that she will talk it over with the doctor and give me a call and tell me what to do next. Should I be panicking and losing it or does it make since to just wait another week, despite what the doctor is gonna say? My husband and I already have a beautiful 2 yr. old son and we really want this baby.5.5 weeks but measured 4.4weeks5.5 weeks but measured 4.4weeksMessage #1: 5.5 weeks but measured 4.4weeks Posted by: BuckeyeNutSarah Date: Aug 27, 2009.Oh sweetie, I wish I knew what to say but I just don't know. You must be so worried! I was supposed to be 7 weeks and measured 5 weeks last friday. Although they raised an eyebrow, they didn't act like I should w orry and they would probably do another ultrasound in a few weeks to look for a heartbeat. Maybe some of the other ladies will know the answer, but I would think the fact that the sac is in your uterus that's a good sign, right? (((HUGS TO YOU))) Try to find something to distract yourself a little!5.5 weeks but measured 4.4weeksMessage #2: 5.5 weeks but measured 4.4weeks Posted by: kmbryant Date: Aug 27, 2009.I know how scared you must be, but it is perfectly normal to be measuring behind or even ahead sometimes. It could be that you ovulated late or you could just have a slow grower. With my son, I had an u/s at almost 7 weeks and all we had was a sac. A week and a half later, there he was his little heart beating away and he is now a happy, healthy, very energetic almost 10 month old. I think you are just too early to be able to see anything.6 weeks

God Bless 5th week and don't feel pregnantMessage #2: 5th week and don't feel pregnant Posted by: erinandjustin Date: Aug 28, 2009.I would try not to worry about it to much, not all women get the symptoms. My best friend never had any symptoms, and then there was me with my DD, and I got sick everyday until the day she was born. With this one the Nausea started around the beginning of this week, and really only when I get hungry. Consider your self blessed 5th week and don't feel pregnantMessage #3: 5th week and don't feel pregnant Posted by: g racie0425 Date: Aug 28, 2009.The same thing happened to me. Then at week 6, it hit with avengence. I'm almost 8 weeks and the all day sickness is finally subsiding, but I'm still super tired. Do not worry - I know, easier said than done. I'm sure everything is fine. Just be glad that you currently feel good! It could be a lot worse! I'm about 5-weeks along as well, have minimal nausea everyday but no sickness to this point, and not much of an appetite at all. Most foods make me feel sick. My breasts are not sore right now either and no notice of size difference. I just went to my doctor for my very first appointment this past Wednesday and she said everything is great and the changes will begin to occur! I'm sure you are just fine! Don't get yourself worked up...try to relax and enjoy the weekend!!! 5th week and don't feel pregnantMessage #8: 5th week and don't feel pregnant Posted by: skerina Date: Aug 28, 2009.I'm around 12 weeks and the only way I feel different is that I'm hungrier and tired more often. It was the same for me the first time too, although I didn't feel as tired....but I was taking an extra 2 hr nap pretty much every day....which I can't fit in with chasing a toddler around this time. I never had any negative symptoms until the very end (last week or two) when my feet and ankles got kinda swollen. My breasts really didn't start to get big until third trimester, and they were never sore, other than a bit from being heavier than usual. Some women are just built to handle pregnancy more easily than others, I guess. -Amber5th week and don't feel pregnantMessage #9: 5th week and don't feel pregnant Posted by: LauraGC Date: Aug 28, 2009.I felt the same way at week 5, and wished I had some symptoms. yes, God answered my prayers and I have been nauseous not stop since then, and I'm at the end of week 8! Hopefully you'll be the lucky few who have very few symptoms. Don't worry!Pregnancy: 1st TrimesterBelly pics...Initial Message Posted by: lovesbug Date: Aug 28, 2009.I told DH after I had DD that the one thing I wish we had done was take more belly pics to show progress. So, what I have done, is take a belly pic every Friday, since about 5 weeks so I could look back and see how my belly has grown. Already, I'm glad I have done that because DH hasn't mentioned it at all!! I figure once I get a little further along I'll stop doing every week and go to li ke every other, or even each month. Are any of you ladies doing belly pics, or is that something you haven't really thought about, or even want to do?? I'm also looking forward to our official "Belly Pic" photo shoot! We had a blast at the one for DD, and we are definitely going to do it again this go round!!!Belly pics...Belly pics...Message #1: Belly pics... Posted by: Jess102600 Date: Aug 28, 2009.I've been trying to take them once a week. I bought "The Belly Book" and for each trimester, there is a section for you to put a picture of what you look like each week. I've only missed one week so far, week 9. I took a pic at 10 weeks exactly, so maybe I'll use that for my week 9 and do another pic at 10w6d for my week 10 pic. I guess that's cheating though I've been posting them on Facebook every week. I can see a little bit of a difference, mostly the bloating going down and the area below my belly button is a little more "plump", not really a bump yet.Belly pics...Message #2: Belly pics... Posted by: lovesbug Date: Aug 28, 2009.haha yeah.. I'm getting thicker around the middle, but there's not really the "baby bump" yet. Posted by: k8lynn0428 Date: Aug 29, 2009.My dr told me last time that I could take sudafed with no letters behind it. You have to get it from behind the counter, but you don't need a pre_script_ion. If you question taking things, call your dr or tell the pharmacist that you are pg. They will tell you what is safe to take. Also... I'm taking benadryl right now for nausea as recommended by my dr... so I know that is safe to take as well. You may want to talk to your dr either way though, because the flu symptoms start the same way as a cold... as far as I understand. Posted by: fsuchick1976 Date: Aug 29, 2009.I say yes. I've been getting flu shots since I was in college. I talked my DH into getting the shot last year and our DD got the shot as soon as she was able at 6 months. When you are pregnant, your immune system is compromised, so you need all the help you can get.Pregnancy: 1st TrimesterReally Need Some Advice...Initial Message Posted by: IndieGo Date: Aug 29, 2009.I am nineteen years and have been extremely responsible and careful in dealing with sex. I did my research, made sure I was absolutely ready, got on birth control and always used condoms. However, when my boyfriend and I broke up, I stopped the birth control and when we got back together I wasn't on it yet. I became pregnant, lesson learned. Unfortunately, by the time I suspected I was pregnant, It was much too late to take the Plan B emergency contraceptive. So now I am a month pregnant and seeking help. I feel that my only option is to have an abortion. I've been doing a lot of research and am thinking of doing the medicinal abortion. So I would really like to talk to someone who has had an abortion (either way) to learn about personal experiences with it
