Please get involved in this health care debate, because your involvement will ensure an affordable health care consistent with the principles of pluralism, freedom of choice, freedom of practice and universal access for our patients.                     For more info on HR 3200                     http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/news/news/ama-supports-hr-3200.shtml What does HR 3200 not address?   It does not address the problem of huge number of uninsured  that are undocumented aliens The bill gives increased money and independence to advanced practice nurses This bill does not address the cost drivers like futility, duplicate or unnecessary ordering of tests It does not address Tort Reform It does not address costs related to administrative hassles It significantly expands the federal responsibility for health care costs It will ban new physician owned hospitals and restrict those in current operation It will cut payments for imaging service Health care reform is necessary in this country but question is does this bill address the issues or is it a bill that will increase government bureaucracy?   What drives the cost in health care?  Health care reform will be only successful, if we go to the root causes that drives the cost in health care-  Malpractice liability No patient accountability Expenses in futile and end of life care No Health Insurance Accountability Access to care, not enough physicians in rural community Fee for service system that pays each hospital for each test given to each admitted patient and each doctor for each office visit and exam spurs a relentless drive for volume without making anyone accountable for preventing illness and maintaining good health. No reward for co-ordinated care Please get involved.
